INT. RESTAURANT. NIGHT.
​
People talking loudly. ELI (female, 30) calmly eats soup. She is not very hungry. Something is on her mind.
​
In front of her sits DAN (male, 32), whose face we don't see. He eats soup too, but he does it very SLOWLY and very LOUDLY.
​
This makes Eli uncomfortable.
​
She stops eating.
​
She searches Dan's gaze, but she can't catch it. He keeps on eating his soup in this painful silence.
​
Eli drops her gaze. She cleans her mouth with her NAPKIN then leaves it on the table. She's lost her appetite.
​
Dan suddenly stops eating. Eli looks up, and swiftly takes her napkin to him as if to help clean something off him.
​
Dan shuns Eli's hand away.
​
We see Dan cleaning his mouth. He has a BAD CUT on his upper lip.
​
Dan resumes his eating in painstaking silence.
​
INT. CAR. NIGHT.
​
Dan drives the car. Eli sits in the passenger seat.
​
Silence.
​
Eli keeps giving quick looks at Dan, but he doesn't flinch.
​
She softly puts her hand on Dan's leg.
​
Dan is startled. He removes Eli's hand to put it on her own leg, then clinches the stirring wheel.
​
Eli looks helplessly out the window.
​
Dan glances at her. He holds his gaze on her to take her all in, from her head down.
​
His gaze stalls on her thigh.
​
He shakes off a feeling, and turns his attention back to the road, holding the stirring wheel tightly.
​
INT. FLAT'S BEDROOM. NIGHT.
​
Eli is in bed, the covers up to her neck. A light coming from the bathroom illuminates her face. She keeps looking in its direction.
​
Dan turns off the light as he leaves the bathroom. Eli follows him with her eyes.
​
Dan is in his pyjamas: LONG SLEEVES TOP and LONG BOTTOMS. He gets a couple of blankets from a closet and walks out of the bedroom.
​
INT. LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.
​
Dan tries to sleep on the sofa, but he's restless.
​
Eli calls from the bedroom:
​
ELI (O.S.)
(feeble)
Dan?
​
Dan opens his eyes but doesn't move.
​
He considers his options.
​
Beat.
​
He gets up reluctantly.
​
INT. BEDROOM. CONT.
​
Dan stops at the entrance of the bedroom.
​
ELI
I need to go to the toilet.
​
Dan goes to Eli. He removes the duvet to reveal Eli in underwear and t-shirt. There is a LARGE SCAR on Eli's naked leg going from the knee up to her stomach where it disappears under her t-shirt.
​
Dan picks Eli up in his arms and carries her to the bathroom.
​
INT. BEDROOM. LATER.
​
Dan carries Eli back to the bed.
​
As he lays her down, Eli gently clutches his neck, and draws Dan's face to hers.
​
She kisses his lips.
​
Dan winces at the pain.
​
Beat.
​
Eli kisses him again, more tenderly this time. It hurts less.
​
Dan kisses her back.
​
Dan gets into bed with Eli. She turns off the bedside lamp.
​
Eli removes Dan's top and kisses his chest tenderly.
​
They have sex, and Eli is now entranced. She kisses Dan avidly, almost viciously.
​
She bites him here and there. He flinches as a reflex but keeps going.
​
It gets intense. She bites him harder and harder, until:
Dan screams in excruciating pain.
​
Dan jumps off the bed. He turns on the bedroom main light.
He stands at a distance from Eli, naked from the waist up. His body is covered in SMALL SCARS.
​
He has a BIT OF FLESH missing from under his left armpit. The blood runs down to his PJ bottoms.
​
He stares at Eli in disbelief.
​
We now see Eli with her mouth covered in blood.
​
Pause.
​
Eli extends her arm in Dan's direction as if to apologise.
He takes a resolute step back.
​
DAN
ENOUGH!
​
As Dan speaks, we see he is missing the TIP OF HIS TONGUE.
​
